The case is a 40mm stretched cushion case design with a hand polished stainless steel finish.
The cream colored guilloche dial is hand assembled. It is thick and made of brass with subtle grain textures. The markers are hand polished, applied metal indices. The Dauphine hands are 3 Dimensional and made of brass.
Inside is a Japanese Automatic Mechanical movement with a 40 hour power reserve, cote de geneve decorations, 21 Jewels and engraved rotor design.
It is domed and made of high quality, scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
22 mm wide. It is made of thick but soft genuine calf leather that comes with a polished buckle matching the case.
The crown is screw-down type. The watch is water proofed, with 5 ATM rating. It comes with free shipping and 24 month warranty - read policies here.
This guy right here... His name is Makina Raum_I, an entirely new demon born to bring balance to the family line-up.
Built like a tank made out of 316L stainless steel, Raum is made for prominence even when measuring only at 42mm in diameter, 48mm lug to lug. An angular design at first glance but is actually curvaceous in totality, brushed and polished in alternate surfaces.
Underneath the sapphire crystal...
Is not your usual sector dial. It is inspired by the front and sides of a revolver's cylinder (where the ammunition goes). The metallic arabic markers mark the odd hour numbers. The even hour numbers are marked with concave shapes coming out of the dial's innermost circle. We opted to go with gold plated brass hands that we think add character to the entire piece... plus, it matches what's on the back.
On the back...
Is an automatic Sellita SW 200-1 (38 hr power reserve), visible through an exhibition caseback. Raum_I will be the first from Makina to sport a Swiss movement. Apart from the back of the case being uniquely flat, the case construction of Raum is quite different; the traditional circular caseback shape that you see in the photo is actually one piece with the sides and lugs.
Raum is dressed in a genuine crocodile leather strap, hand-made and hand-stitched, with a deployant clasp for convenience and protection of the leather. It also comes with an additional black silicone strap.
It is intended to be versatile and can be worn as a sporty dress watch, as well as a rugged daily wear adventurer.
Raum will be produced in limited quantities and will be released in small batches.
